This beautifully built home renovation was done for a wonderful family who had a bold vision to bring new life to their newly purchased home in East Memphis. The original home was built in the early 1990s and had some minor improvements done over the years, but nothing like what you see here. This home was radically transformed by removing the wall that separated the kitchen and the family room. In order to create more connectivity and comfort the decision was made to make the fireplace a two sided, “see-through” fireplace which is now the centerpiece of this home. The old world elegance of the beams add warmth as they quietly serve as the structural support for the upstairs. With virtually every turn inside this home you are met with beautiful selections and quality craftsmanship.
This project featured several decisions where the home owner was able to save existing elements and work them into the new layout and design. Wood floors were salvaged, laundry cabinets refinished, and the exterior painted to bring the home up to date. We understand that our clients want to get the most impact for their budget and we can work with them to help make good decisions that save cost and contribute to the overall look and feel of the space.
This project was fun, challenging and one we know will be at the heart of years of family memories. Welcome home.
